Serving the Chinese Community in New Jersey
"Chinese News Weekly" was founded and first published in December of 1995. Over the past 15 years, it has become the most popular Chinese newspaper among the Chinese families in New Jersey. "Chinese News Weekly" maintains a neutral position without any political, religious, or cultural prejudice, and provides timely and accurate reports without any biased comments.
In 1990s, the New Jersey Chinese community grew rapidly to become the third largest in the United States. To meet the demand of the fast growing community, "Chinese News Weekly" was founded to serve Chinese readers across New Jersey. Our newspaper is published every Friday, with 16,000 circulations. The newspaper is free of charge. Anyone can pick up a copy in most of the Asian supermarkets, Chinese restaurants, or Chinese business centers. As the most popular Chinese newspaper in New Jersey, "Chinese News Weekly" is available wherever you go in the Chinese communities.
"Chinese News Weekly" first started with 24 pages. It has now grown into 56 pages, with 8 full color pages. It has become an important news center and a good daily helper for the Chinese families in New Jersey. Each issue includes the following feature sections:
Community News: Reports on the recent community events, which include political elections, cultural events, community club activities, non-profit organization events, and business news.
Current Affairs: This section consists of one-sentence news of the week, current affairs from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, international news and US news.
Economical News: This section consists of educational information about immigration, law, medicine, economics, finance, investment, real estate, mortgage, insurance, and etc.
Literature Section: This section consists of prose, poem, and novel series written by popular and well-known writers. Readers can also submit their own literary work to be published in the newspaper.
Life and Style Section: This section consists of tips for healthy and smart living such as beauty care, fashion trend, cooking recipes, new movie rankings and reviews, child care and education.
Young Reporters Section: In order to promote young adults who are interested in journalism, we created this two-page section dedicated to high school Chinese students. They do all the reporting and editing in English, and currently there are about 40 participating students across New Jersey who publish their own essays on a weekly basis.
Classified Advertisements Section: We reserve six pages for classified advertisements. This powerful business promotion engine provides an easy and fast way for a business to reach out and to be accessed by Chinese Communities. With a very low cost of service, our advertisement customers will benefit a quick high return in a very short time.
